Modeling The Cornwall RR

1907 in HO Scale

The creator of this website is in the planning stage to build a layout of the Cornwall Railroad circa 1907. Although only five years earlier than the N scale 1912 layout shown below, this date was chosen as the Cornwall area was quite different having not yet had the "Mining Improvements" which were added shortly there after by the Cornwall Ore Banks (which comprised the additon of a hoist, crusher / screener, and loading pockets). This will inturn help to prevent remodeling what was already done in N scale. In addition, it is hoped to have almost the entire line depicted and not just the Cornwall area as in the 1912 layout.

1912 in N Scale

This N scale 1912 depiction of the Cornwall Ore Mines in their heyday is a nearly compete layout built for the Cornwall Iron Furnace historic site. This project was started back in 2006 when the creator of this website worked part time at the furnace during the summer. Unfortuanetly the layout is no longer accessible to the public having been moved from the main building and placed into storage due to lack of display space.

1948-1958 in HO Scale

James Mattern has modeled the Cornwall Railroad for quite a few years. Presently he is in the design phase of his 1948-1958 layout depicting the Cornwall RR from the shops in Lebanon to approximently Midway. Although space for a layout has only recently become avaliable, James has already made several fine models of Cornwall equipment. Click the link to his page to see his latest modeling updates.
